Hednesford – August 2018

Once more to Hednesford, 2nd visit of the year for Team #114 but 3rd for the Legends, and not the last either as we’re back again in October. This hasn’t been the best hunting ground for Damian, and so it proved again this time.

This event was the annual Des Chandler Trophy, which Damian won in 2010, despite being semi-retired at the time. And despite being a “trophy” event the grids were still decided on grades, and for the final the grid was decided on heat performances within grades, so Damian started each race either 2nd or 3rd row from the back and had no hope of improving his position.

This of course didn’t stop #161 Dan Holden, who started from dead last and finished 1st, 2nd, 1st, adding yet another big chunk of silverware to his already obscene collection!

Damian however could only manage 6th in the 2 heats, and a not particularly great 12th in the Final (out of 15 starters).

So a short and not so sweet report this week, which pretty much sums up the weekend.

To make matters worse, there’s a video of the Final on Youtube, but my camera skills seem to going downhill, there are focus issues and some stuttering in this one and I’m struggling to understand why. Perhaps I should go back to using the old cam-corder?
